Local Camp Hero Rescues Two In Sinking Boat
Dale Wolf of Norwood Enterprise aided two School of Reserves girls at Roudebush camp near Batavia when their boat started sinking. He jumped in, carried them to safety, saving them from the dangerous situation. The campers and their Cincinnati homes were badly frightened by the incident.

Milk Thieves Arrested in Neville Theft Case
Ed and Walter Boehm of Neville were arrested on warrants by Sheriff Roberts and Deputy Mein ken for stealing cream valued at 81 cents per gallon and two cans. The goods were sold at Felicity and the pair were held on 2000 bond by Squire Larkin until Monday hearing. About 15 dollars was the total property value.

Dry cold spell reduced berries and killed open blossoms but the strawberry crop is now on the market from 16c to 80c for choice. The season started fine but dry weather produced many small berries and the yield this year is expected to be short.

Two Arrests In County Moonshine Sweep
Hattie Carbaugh of Summerside was cited to court after a raid by Sheriff Roberts. A large quantity of home brew was seized and destroyed. she was to report Monday night. Hollis Haley of Spring Grove was arrested for possession of moonshine and home brew, pled guilty before Judge White, and paid a $150 fine.

Famous Lincoln buggy on display in Carthage
The Lincoln buggy built 1828 by George D. Chapman is shown at Monroe Motor Sales in Carthage Illinois through courtesy of Mr. Monroe and Herbert Tabler of Plymouth Illinois. Lincoln rode into Carthage on October 22 1858 to address a congressional campaign. The vehicle, 102 years old, was preserved and remains on display with other Lincoln relics per Mrs Minnie Wise of Williamsburg.

Ohio veterans of the Rainbow Division will hold their annual reunion in Columbus on Friday and Saturday, June 6 and 7, with the women’s auxiliary meeting at the same time.
