Newport News man charged after fatal knife attack in Clermont county

Frank Dugan 50 of Newport News Virginia is accused of stabbing Ernest Johnson 28 of Akron during a late night ride near Neville. Johnson was stabbed four times and hospitalized in Cincinnati Bethesda Hospital not expected to live. Dugan was arrested in Batavia after the incident at Alex Curtis' home and jailed as authorities prepared charges.

Over five central stations Milford Mt. Carmel Amelia Batavia and Moscow hosted a four day pre school conference May 26 to 30. Rural mothers attended with PTA appointment clinics and doctors provided free diagnostic talks led by Dr Lippert from the State Health Department.

Dustless Roads Plan Aims at Ohio Gravel Surfaces

Ohio Director of Highways Robert N Ward proposes five million gallons of pond oil for gravel roads or 500 cars to treat the state asphalt like surface. The oil is applied to one half of a road at a time with an 21 hour wait before the other half is treated. A highway bulletin urges motorists to slow down to avoid splatter and preserve shiny cars.

Ed and Walter Boehm of near Neville faced Squire Larkin. One pled guilty the other was found guilty. They received fines and costs and 80 days in jail. Several witnesses connected to the milk and cream trade attended the trial.

N. N. U. Reunion Plans Set for Lebanon in August

Preliminary plans for the 1930s N. N. U. Reunion to be held in Lebanon this August were made at a committee meeting in the Brandon and Burke offices. Judge David Davie and the N. N. Y. Decoration Day Observances Across County

Decoration Day was observed with Legion in charge at Batavia Williamsburg Bethel and New Richmond. Cemeteries were decorated with flowers as former residents returned to honor soldiers and hear short talks from Judge White and Rev Fisher. Weather was unusually cool for May and graves were well tended.
