Clermont County commissioners learned the EDA has no funds available for two proposed justice centers. A letter from Assistant Secretary Mizell states no federal program supports detention center funding. Voters will decide four levies for an adult detention and rehabilitation center in Batavia and a juvenile center on SR 222.
Hitch seeks to sue members of the Clermont County Republican Central Committee over his April 21 ouster for alleged support of his Democratic candidate brother James. The five counties Clermont Warren Brown Adams and Highland seek to alter passage from five to three votes to push SPEDY and other funds, with administration money at stake and risk to smaller counties if the consortium dissolves.
