Our neighbors recall Richard S. Richards born January 4, 1852 in Brown County Ohio died after a paralysis stroke on May 15 at age 75 years 4 months 15 days. He served in Co I 8th Infantry from 1873 to 1878 and left a large family of seven children with Martha and Clara Gilmore.
Emma Florence Apple born February 28 1850 in New Richmond Ohio died May 10 1927 in Marathon Ohio. She married John B Apple July 4 1869 and had ten children. Funeral held May 12 1927 at Marathon M E Church led by Rev Case. Interment Williamsburg Cemetery.
