Gambling Outfit Seized at Branch Hill by Local Sheriff
Sheriff Cresswell and deputies raided Branch Hill on Monday night, confiscating two slot machines filled with cash, a roulette wheel, wheel of fortune, and a bone-rolling table among other devices. The entire setup was loaded into a large truck and taken to Batavia jail. Owner John Morris of Cincinnati ordered to appear in Batavia court. The haul was found at the home of John J. Ryan, formerly of Cincinnati, with a hearing scheduled later.

Big Brushy Fork Dam Aims 80 Acre Lake And Resort
Work on the Brushy Fork dam in Stonelick township progresses toward an 80 acre freshwater lake with fishing. A summer resort and cottages for city people are planned. Sun Day School Changes At U B Church Event
Since completing the new church structure the Sun Day School expanded classes with separate rooms for juniors and intermediates. Adult groups meet in the auditorium and basement, now coated with five layers of mastic by a Columbus firm.
