Child nearly drowns after fall in Batavia pond

Ashland College senior Norma Atherton of Felicity will speak at the International and Interdenominational Christian Endeavor Conference in Cleveland from July 2 to 8 on problems of Christian Endeavor work in American colleges. Double Drowning In White Oak Creek Near New Hope
Two men from Wallsburg Lou Harris 45 and Vern Shaffer 23 were killed when their automobile plunged into White Oak Creek near New Hope in Bgown county after leaving about 3 pm Wednesday. A search found the wreck Thursday morning. the car was pulled to shore and the bodies taken to their homes. Funerals were held Saturday.
