Sergeant Albert F. Frederick of Perintown Ohio earned a bronze medal at the U S Marine Corps pistol competition in Guantanamo Cuba. He scored well, defeating twenty eight of thirty five top shooters from Haiti Santo Domingo the Virgin Islands and Nicaragua. In Bethel the Eckman car from Cincinnati stolen April 15 was recovered at Robert Huggin's. A young man had left the vehicle for storage days earlier. Cal Crim secured the car from the owner after reporting the theft to city authorities. Valued at $8500, the thief is still at large.

Dillman Dies in Florida After Long Illness
Andrew W. Dillman died at his home in St Petersburg Florida on May 14 at 2 am after years of poor health. He was 65 born in Lewis township Brown county and rebuilt Bethel Roller Mills in 1904 later moving to Florida in 1914. The Anti Tuberculosis League of Cincinnati opens its annual Swat the Fly drive announcing that children who deliver a pint of flies to league headquarters will earn a ticket to the Zoo Chester Park a baseball game or a movie. The league cites a spring egg batch that yields billions of flies by summer and plans to show life cycle slides in theaters.
