The Batavia high school to hold its forty first annual commencement at the town hall on Wednesday May 24 at 8 p m with a program including an invocation salutatory class history music class prophecy valedictory and diplomas. A separate sale of 2c admission at Nashs drug store on May 22 at 3 30 p m and a postponed class play to May 29 are noted along with a Baccalaureate service at M E church on May 21 at 7 80 p m. In Whitaker area a community club formed from schoolhouse meetings held bi weekly presents a varied program including songs recitations dialogues and solos with a string band. next meeting is May 20.

A sewer cleaner arrived and was tested last week in the Spring Street sewer. Workers praised its operation for blasting dirt loose with water force while four backward streams pull the hose forward. It removes dirt and sediment but not roots, which mainly cause sewer trouble, and its cost is inexpensive.

Last Wednesday evening the High School held its annual Junior Senior reception in the auditorium. Four Candidates Raised by Queen City Lodge in Tabasco
The J. B. Covert Masonic lodge at Tabasco hosted a meeting last Saturday night with four candidates raised by the Queen City lodge of Cincinnati. Pringle and Buerkle were the successful bidders on seven miles of pike in Brown county between Sardinia and Mt. Crab for 99000 dollars. Tobacco season begins as rain aids growers this spring

Dead man found in buggy near Edenton after mule work
A man named Dad Nickerson of Edenton was found dead in his buggy Friday while returning from Newtoneville where he tended mules. Death was due to acute indigestion. Burial will be at Greenfield with his son and daughter living there.

Four high schools Batavia Milford New Richmond and Owensville competed at the Boston Fair Grounds on Saturday. Batavia boys won the field and track meet while Owensville girls claimed the title.
