Farmer O J Harlow dies in harrow accident near Williamsburg
O J Harlow a Williamsburg township farmer was killed when a harrow injured him as the team dragged across a field. He died from a broken neck and head wounds after the teeth of the harrow penetrated his body. Survived by wife and daughter Ruth. Funeral held at Greenberry church three miles north of Williamsburg.

Felicity School Band Wins State Class B Honors
The Felicity School Band traveled to Columbus on May 10 and won first place in Class B at the State Band Contest held May 11. Their victory crowns Felicity as Ohio’s representative at the National Band Contest in Joliet, Illinois, reflecting three years of progress under a skilled instructor.

Trustees Hear Right of Way Dispute Over Hartman Farm
Batavia Township Trustees met in regular session with all members present. Peter Knohl, via S. W. Sprague, sought a right of way over the Raw Sweet farm now owned by J. F. Hartman and Lot Hulick land. Hartman Hulick objected and a heated session followed as Knohl argued his land borders the state highway to Owensville. The matter has been raised before with little progress and the clerk and attorney were to report when called.

Musical Recital Club reorganized and meets in Amelia
The Musical Recital Club of Amelia met May 12 1928 at Mrs Laub’s home to reorganize for the second year with eighteen members from a class of thirty three. Eighth grade graduates from districts without a high school will gather at Batavia Town Hall on Saturday May 26 at 1 30 p m. A program of music and speaking is planned.
