Batavian Receives Sentence and Fine in DWI Case
Batavia, D. George Gardner, 37, was found guilty of driving while intoxicated by a Batavia Common Pleas Court jury. He received a $100 fine, $163.10 costs from Mayor J F Paschal, and a 10 day jail term to be served one day weekly. arrested March 30 by Batavia Police Chief Ed Colonel and Patrolman W A Kalchek, Gardner had requested a jury trial and had prior plea of guilty to resisting an officer.

Rites were held yesterday at Sharpsburg Kentucky for Mrs Irene Goodpastor Jones 28 who died Monday at her Maple Pike home after several weeks illness Her husband Johnny called the Bethel life saving squad and Dr W H Culley during the night but she died before the physician arrived Dr F S Skeen Clermont County Coroner said death was due to a virus infection.

Education Board Seeks School District Restructure Plan
Clermont superintendent Frank B. Hoggatt announced the county board of education asked the state for information on reorganizing county districts to a first through twelfth grade system. The move would affect 14 rural districts and nine schools with 12 year programs, while Goshen and Owensville consider mergers. The district values and bond issue at Owensville are noted, with Goshen eyeing a $100,000 grant for enlarging its district to support possible consolidations. Wayne Number 8 one room school may be absorbed into a larger district under the plan.

Teens Admit Farm Bureau Building Thefts in Batavia
Two teenage youths arrested by Police Chief Ed Colonel and Juvenile Officer Fred Holt admitted breaking into the Clermont County Farm Bureau building seven times since December 7, 1951 and stealing $1.50 from the office of Charles Shinkle. They were jailed by Probate Judge Orville Halbisch until a hearing later this week.

Batavia police and Clermont County officers cracked four robberies after a careful stakeout. A Batavia juvenile and three Clermont men were arrested, confessing to break ins at Carl's Bar Willowville Dial's service and a Loveland garage.
