Milford weighs sewer plan cost at 700000

Milford officials hear a Sewer Committee report estimating a village sanitary sewer system at about 700000. Engineer Walter F. Manion projected costs, noting 400000 as a prior estimate, and the panel advised no action now. The discussion also covered home treatment equipment for some properties draining into storm sewers. A chimney spark caused a small roof hole at Jack Poynter’s home. Bethel Fire Department responded.

$15 000 Suit Filed Against Kentuckian By Cincinnati Boy

Joe M. Gail of Cincinnati filed a $15 000 damage suit for his son Morris 12 against Fred Southam of Maysville Ky in Batavia. The case cites a US 52 auto crash near New Richmond about a year ago and seeks 1504.27 for hospital costs and lost wages plus 348 for Ada Verkamp s auto damages.

Relatives Trigger Arrests In Clermont County Case

Freeland Pratt arraigned by Milford Justice of the Peace on assault with intent to kill charged by his mother in law and bound over to the grand jury with a $500 peace bond. William Rosenan and Clarence Norris also bound over on assault and battery charges at Bethel hearing. Joseph Brunk placed on one month probation after non support charge by wife in Locust Lake.

Williamsburg Boy Narrowly Misses Top Honor in Ohio Test

In the Algebra I division of the May 3 Final District State Scholarship Test, Paul Carlson Minning of Williamsburg finished second with 48 of 60 points, two shy of first. Other Clermont youths ranked among 231 honors receivers from 14,095 Ohio high school students. John Howard Veldt of Milford placed seventh with 41 points, and Jerry White of Amelia ranked eighth in Senior Social Studies with 130 of 150.

Earley Fined and Jailed for Cutting Charge in Milford

Charles Earley, 38, of Blanchester, received $200 fine and three months in jail after pleading guilty to cutting with intent to wound. He was also fined $50 and costs on a separate charge of having an ear. Milford patrolman Roy Cowan arrested Earley Saturday after a fight at Main and Beech Streets left Walter Smith with a severed throat and jaw requiring eight stitches.

Bethel Man Hurt After Truck Overturns on Nicholsville Road

Noah B Powers, 21, of Route 2 Bethel, suffered head cuts when his truck overturned on Nicholsville Road late Friday and he was thrown onto the highway. Mrs. David E Smith reports her son Pfc Glen Smith underwent an operation for appendicitis and hernia at Camp Polk Louisiana while serving with the 37th Division. He is a member of Company B ONG called to active duty from Batavia last winter.

Executive Board Formed to Study Incorporation

In Withamsville Ohio a five man executive board will study incorporating the Withamsville and Tabasco area. Board members are Ed Stevenson chairman Ralph Ford Gus Wysnewski Carl Shephard and Roy Kramer. A Monday meeting at Mt Moriah church drew twelve volunteers to assist with details of the project.

Willard A. Kalchek physical education director resigns at term end after two years in Batavia including mentoring baseball and basketball squads. He pursued a master's degree at Xavier University and may enter industry while continuing as Batavia police patrolman during the new assignment.
