Memorial Day Parade in Batavia Planned by Legion and VFW

The Frank W. Weaver American Legion Post 237 sponsors Batavia's annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday May 26. The parade forms at 10:30 a.m. west of D and J Dairy Bar on Main Street and moves out at 11:30 a.m. It will stop at the bridge for services before continuing to Batavia Cemetery. Memorial Day services planned at Bethel Bantam area

Memorial Day programs will be held May 26 beginning at 10 a.m. at Old Bethel Church near Bantam with a noon service at Pioneer Bethel and 11:30 a.m. marking at Bethel Tate Cemetery. Archie Lee Boyce American Legion Post 406 of Bethel leads with auxiliary members participating. Commander James Steward notes wreaths, a short prayer program, and a ceremonial rifle salute by the Color Guard and Firing Squad to honor fallen service members.

Memorial Day Dinner at Mt Zion St Paul UCC New Richmond

The Women's Society of Mt. Zion-St. Paul United Church of Christ will host a Memorial Day dinner on Sunday May 25 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Mt. Zion annex Clermontville Laurel Road. Adults donate 2.50 and children 1.26. Regular services start at 10 a.m. at Mt. Zion Chapel.

A federal grant of 8.006 million will cover about 75 percent of a 12 million Nine Mile Waste Treatment and Sewer System in Clermont County serving about 10 000 residents in Williamsville Nine Mile Road and Cherry Grove areas. Completion is expected in 1982 with 800 new residential users. Local officials cite long delays and cost differences from earlier plans.
