Clermont collected 106,129 in March permissive sales taxes. The state auditor’s office distributes monthly but with a two month lag due to processing. The tax funds day to day operations for counties and regional transit authorities at a one half percent levy.

Eastgate Boulevard extension aims to reshape Mall access
Clermont hears Eastgate Boulevard extension plans running north of SR 32 from Perkins Restaurant to Aicholtz Road. The project would add an overpass over SR 32 with ramps and loops and reconfigure Mall entrance access. Public hearing drew no residents or comments on a 2.45 million water works upgrade plan. The project adds PUB plant capacity at Ten Mile Road and SR 52, reed monitoring, a well field, and new wells at New Palestine with bids opening mid June and construction starting late July, aiming for completion in 1981.
