Ten Welfare Judgments Granted in Clermont County Suits

Clermont County hearings last Thursday afternoon awarded ten judgments in welfare fraud cases filed by the Clermont County Welfare Department. Seventeen suits in all alleged recipients obtained payments they were not eligible for. most parties had repayment agreements, with four cases dismissed after prior arrangements. Firefighters searched a burning two story rental at 1471 Clough Pike last Tuesday afternoon as parents arrived with two small children Kris 3 and Chaz 4. Estimated damage 40000 with cause under investigation by Batavia Fire Department. Neighbors reported Robbie 12 and Mike 10 seen near the property before flames were found.

Probation Revoked for Repeat Offender in Clermont County

Charles E. Bell had probation revoked after Judge Louis J. Schwartz found he violated terms of a December theft probation. Bell pleaded guilty to a reduced theft charge, receiving six months in jail previously, with 90 days added by another judge, and now faces further legal trouble.
