North Union Awards Fire House Contract
The North Union Township Volunteer Fire Department receives a new 60 by 90 foot station on a vacant lot south of old SR 74 to house six pieces of equipment and support future growth. No new taxes will be needed, funded from current revenues. The department serves 20 000 residents in Clermont County near Batavia Township and Hamilton County boundaries.

Batavia High held the Junior Senior Prom on May 11 at Lookout House then returned to the school for movies and breakfast. The Batavia Athletic Banquet is set for May 19 at 7 pm in Batavia Junior High Auditorium. The boys track team placed second in Clermont County Varsity track 1973. Chuck Games earned first team all county. Junior class hosts safety flare sales at $1 per package. Junior Achievement picnic May 16 at Sportsman's Park marks the last gathering of the now liquidated company.

The Summerside United Methodist Church on old SR 74 in Mt. Carmel will host a three day Lay Witness Mission May 18 19 and D. The Rev Norman P Brom pastor and Dr R L Davidson general chairman lead more than 30 missioneers from a five state area including 14 youth with a special youth program. Field Coordinator is Hugh Shafer of Florence Ky. The witnesses will preside at three meetings Friday Saturday evenings and Sunday morning with carry in dinners coffee hours a men’s luncheon a Milford Saturday picnic and cookout. Babysitting will be provided and a full program for grades 4 5 and 6 is planned.
