The Youth Services Bureau of Giermont County gains a federal grant totaling $60,000 to support unruly minors and court-involved youths. A 21 member advisory commission was appointed to implement the program, with advisors including Virginia Zimmerman and other three and two year members, forming a groundwork for operation.
County officials report progress and delays in transferring a 6100 square foot building to the Board of Mental Retardation from Clermont County Council for Retarded Children. The new school may incur liquidated damages of 200 dollars daily from May 22 until completion, with weather blamed for delays. Commissioners worry about fall readiness while project staff stay hopeful. The sheltered workshop will halt June 18 to allow relocation.
