Clermont Northeastern school district will run six week summer sessions at the high school on Rt 50 and Hutchison Road. Mrs Cora Benjamin 90 mother of Courier columnist Hazel McLeish died Sunday May 13 in New Richmond. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lew F White Memorial funeral home with burial in Green Mound Cemetery. She was widow of Harry Benjamin and survived by daughters Susie McCarthy Andrews Reba Jenkins and Ruby Ginn.
County commissioners name Ruth M Winters to fill a Welfare Department caseworker vacancy effective June 1 with a starting salary of 315 dollars per month.
Gordon of Reliable Finance Co. Batavia received five years probation after pleading guilty to embezzlement and forgery. A $12 000 shortage cited. he reported it when resigning in February. His attorney said Gordon, now employed, cooperated fully and will repay shortages.
Dr Frederick Skeen of Batavia and president of Clermont County Heart Council will attend the Ohio State Heart Association and Ohio State Medical Association meetings in Columbus from Tuesday May 15 to Sunday May 20. He represents the Heart Association of Greater Cincinnati as a delegate and serves on the HAGC Medical Advisory Council.

A Stonelick township plan approved by Clermont County Planning Commission moves to public hearing. It designates three industrial zones four major conservation areas and community business zones with about half residential B and a quarter residential A areas and a small portion otherwise.

Supplemental directories issued by the Cincinnati and Suburban Bell Telephone Company announce about 10 000 new numbers in Greater Cincinnati Amelia and Loveland due to a North Greenhills exchange and extended area service. Callers should consult the new directories to obtain correct numbers.
County schools report more than 500 seniors will graduate across two exempted village schools and seven high schools. Commencement speakers include Simmie Alley Jr. former Goshen superintendent now Denny Supply vice president and Rev. Don Kelly among others. Baccalaureate services set May 13 to May 27 across Batavia Felicity-Franklin Williamsburg Milford Amelia and New Richmond with 39 to 160 seniors participating.
Tucker 39 athletic coach and transportation supervisor was named superintendent of New Richmond Public Schools succeeding Brooks Parsons who resigned to lead Norwood city schools. Appointment effective June 1 after seven years in the local system. He holds degrees from Wilmington College and Morehead College Ky. He is married with two children.

Amelia high school opens registration June 4 8 for the West Clermont district summer program running June 11 to July 21. Regular sessions offer senior high four hours daily six days a week junior high three days weekly four hours. Tuition differs for in district and outside students for senior and junior courses. Programs include American History World History English Driver Education Typing Mathematics Speech therapy remedial reading and more with fees listed.
In MT CARMEL two bombs made by Bill Pope were found after the second was tossed in a ditch following an earlier explosion that cost Pope fingers. The youth reported the bomb to his father who notified Sheriff Clyde Dericks. Patrolman Ariss filed juvenile charges against Pope for possession of explosives and for knowledge of explosives against the three other youths.

Clermont County scouts with 7,000 peers take part Sunday afternoon May 20 in the United Clothing Drive to aid St. Vincent de Paul Society and Ohio Valley Goodwill. Trucks wear UCD signs as they canvas Greater Cincinnati villages. donors are guided to use UCD bags distributed May 13 and place on porches by 1 p.m. Sunday.
