Truck inspection at New Richmond yields fines and violators

More than 300 trucks were stopped by New Richmond Chief of Police Andy Painter and PUCO inspectors on U S 52. They checked safety gear registration PUCO permits log books and other items. Fines totaled 185 with 11 drivers violating PUCO rules. A driver tried to warn others during the operation.

New Richmond considers supplying Amelia with water. A $252,000 plant expansion plus $198,000 interest over 36 years would total $450,000. After a two hour session, the council sent for a closed meeting with Amelia to discuss costs and a possible contract.

Felicity Church Appoints New Trustees By Judge

Judge Harry Britton of Clermont County Common Pleas Court appointed a new board of trustees for Flatrock Holiness Church near Felicity. New members are Alex Sizemore two year term Martha Roehm two year term Mable Clifton John Simon one year terms and Velma Marriott three year term. He instructed that trustees are elected by the congregation and are responsible for all church properties.

Clermont Villages Complete Red Cross First Aid Training

Harold Nichols, director of Civilian Defense first aid in Clermont County, reports Batavia Felicity and Chile completed Red Cross first aid courses last week. Additional classes are underway in Loveland Owensville and Locust Corner.

Services Held for Young Victim of Shotgun Tragedy

Marilyn Keller seven year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Mervyn Keller Mt Washington Tabasco Pike died after a shotgun accident at her grandmother’s home. The refrain of the tragedy shows a blast from an old shotgun striking her in the upper left chest during a Mother's Day gathering. Wilmington Firm Awarded Contract For Bethel Tate School

The Bethel Tate school project in Bethel with a $300000 general contract was awarded to A P Eveland of Wilmington. Cincinnati architects William W Carlton and Associates announced the plan for a one story concrete brick building with twelve classrooms a dining room and kitchen. The building will sit beside the municipal ball park with an entrance on South street. The board rejected bids for a bus garage planned near the school.

Raymond Riehle Resigns Milford Rural Carrier Post

Raymond Riehle resigned Tuesday as Milford rural route carrier. Postmaster Frank W. White announced the health reason for the resignation. Riehle served since January 1, 1943 and was Milford postmaster prior to that. Substitute Wilbur B. S. Lewis will handle the route until a successor is appointed.

A fire started when an oil heating stove was lighted Saturday morning in the Perkins Television Service building at 6 Main St Milford. Total damage about 750 dollars with 250 at the business and 500 to the structure, confined to the occupied portion.

Rus sell G England announces Milton E. Roush has been appointed assistant supervisor of the Farmers Home Administration succeeding Paul F. Roll Jr, who moves to West Union Ohio. Roush, a former Wagoner Kull dealer employee, earned a 1949 BS in agriculture from Ohio University Athens and resides with his family near Owensville.
