Educator dies after long service in Clermont County
Fred B. Bishop a Goshen educator from prominent Clermont County families died at his home May 13 1939. He taught in Goshen for twenty two years and twice led Goshen High School as superintendent authoring the first course of study. He also led Bethel High School and held county posts including clerk of the County Board of Elections and secretary of the Clermont County Teachers Institute. Funeral services will be at Bishop Funeral Home Goshen at 2 30 p m on Tuesday May 16.

Inter-County Rural Electric Co-operative Secures Fourth Mortgage
The Federal Reconstruction Finance Corporation filed a mortgage on all real and personal property of the Inter-County Rural Electric Co operative Inc in Clinton Adams Brown Clermont Fayette Highland Pickaway Warren and Ross counties. Prominent Batavia Citizen W R Kernohan Rites Held
Funeral services for W R Kernohan of Batavia were held at Stirling Moore Funeral Home on Saturday at 2 pm with Rev Vernon Martin officiating. He was vice president of the Sovereign Coal and Coke Co of Cincinnati and long active in wholesale coal. He belonged to Batavia Masonic Edge and Scottish Rite of Cincinnati. Survived by wife Emma and brothers Hugh of Wilton and Sol K of Perintown. The town mourns a valued citizen with many friends attending.

The Batavia O E S chapter held its 34th annual inspection at the Masonic Temple on Friday night May 12 with visitors from neighboring chapters.
