The Bissantz family cements local prominence with Harold winning the county commissioner GOP primary and entering the general election. Mrs. Bissantz reaches Mrs. Ohio finalist status while daughter Cherylene is a Miss Cincinnati semi finalist as Carl pursues golf and other sports. CNE Censures County Board Over Milford Area Transfer

Clermont Northeastern votes to oppose a territory transfer from Clermont Northeastern to Milford Exempted Village District. A special May 11 meeting censures the Clermont County Board for alleged abuse of discretion and seeks court action to block the transfer. The dispute centers on tax duplicates, potential industrial growth, and loss of about 54 pupils affecting curriculum. Final Rites Held For Albert Vogt

Albert Vogt 69 longtime Clermont County resident and president of Mr Carmel Building and Loan died Sunday at his home in Summerside. A retired farmer he led the building and loan from 1945 onward and was known for civic involvement including preserving land for an industrial park on his farm.

George Sidwell of Milford elected chairman of the Clermont County Republican Central Committee with Joseph Romley of Batavia as vice chairman. John Watson of Williamsburg reelected chairman of the party executive committee. Arthur Wehrmann of Monroe named treasurer. Elvira Werner reappointed chairwoman, Myrl Zoller secretary, and Minton Christman treasurer. The meeting covered two years of activity and upcoming campaign plans amid leadership changes.

County Road Program Aims for 1968 double seal and blacktop

Clermont County Commissioners approve a 1968 plan by Engineer Carl H Rush totaling 49.56 miles of double seal and 30.87 miles of blacktop at a cost of 344112 dollars. Roads include Taylor Pike and several branches and lanes with detailed mileages and project scope for double seal and blacktop treatments across Clermont County in the ongoing road improvement effort. Our Lady of Mercy Hospital in Mariemont served as a disaster reception center during the April tornado event with 27 victims treated in two hours and coordinated interagency communication via shortwave radio.

Amelia Elementary School Carnival Set

A Spring Carnival at Amelia Elementary School on May 25 at 2:00 p.m. is sponsored by the Parent and Teachers Association. The event features white elephant and bakery booths, games, rides, and carnival foods. Scouts exhibits highlight projects from the past year. An Italian spaghetti dinner from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. includes a drink and salad.

Batavia Plans Three Committees To Probe Future Needs

Myles Elston, chairman of the Batavia Planning Commission, announces three committees to explore and advise on Batavia’s future needs. Loren Hughes heads the Industrial Committee, Mrs. Florence Parrott the Recreation Committee, and Howard Bissantz the Highway Committee. The commission expects highways, East Fork Reservoir, a county airport, and large industrial parks to shape the town’s growth. Citizens are invited to join and share constructive ideas.
