Alfred Spitzmueller 21 and Frank Cann 18 of Locust Corner were critically hurt early Sunday when their car crashed into a telephone pole on Route 125 between Eight and Nine Mile roads. Spitzmueller suffered a fractured skull while Cann had a forehead gash needing 11 stitches. Spitzmueller remained unconscious after brain surgery as Cann recounted that Spitzmueller slept at the wheel before the crash near home on their way back from Cincinnati.
