Ohio May 14 Primary Nominates Party Slates

Statewide primary voters select delegates and nominees for national and state conventions. Republicans face contested races for Auditor and Governor Bricker’s succession while others run unopposed in Clermont County races for Commissioner and various county posts. Maurice Jenderson and Harold Altman were acquitted on improper license charges.

Clermont County GOP Declines Endorsements for May Primary

The Republican Central Committee of Clermont County states it has not endorsed any candidate on the county primary ticket and will not endorse for the May 14 primary. It urges voters to select candidates best suited for national, state, and county offices.

School of Instruction to be Held in New Richmond

The Clermont County Council of P T A s holds its annual School of Instruction in New Richmond on Wednesday May 15 starting at 9 45 A M Introductions by Mrs Wm Burkhart and a welcome by Supt Roy Thompson The program features The P T A Clinic and musical numbers by the New Richmond school department After lunch the afternoon session begins at 2 P M with performances by the Amelia Young Men s Quartet and soloist Jack Smith Other speakers include F B Hoggatt and A S Cornutt Mrs Cornutt will present the speaker of the day Mrs Lorin C Staats Magazine Chairman of the State Congress The day ends with installation of officers led by Mrs A C Roslow and others from Williamsville Tabasco Batavia and Newtonsville.

Clermont students dominate district meet with multiple firsts

Twenty four Clermont county students placed in the top ten across subjects at the District State Scholarship meet held in Oxford on May 4. Bethel students swept firsts in Biology and General Science, with Owensville claiming first in Algebra I. Additional top ten finishers included Milford, Batavia, and Felicity representatives in subjects from Latin I to Shorthand III.

Republicans Rally at Goshen with 24 Candidates

The Clermont County Republican meeting drew over 200 attendees from Portsmouth to Cincinnati. Held in Goshen High School Auditorium, 24 candidates answered calls with remarks and promises as Ex-Governor Myers Y. Cooper spoke on the political outlook.
