Batavia High School playoff hopes collapse after Tabor is ruled ineligible for Sunday ball violation. Batavia had won county title and two district games at Cincinnati Withrow, but Commissioner Townsend declares Batavia out of running. Coach Ed Jacksers team had earlier defeated Deere Park 4 to 2 and St Bernard 4 to 0 before the ruling. Meanwhile Holy Trinity Church hosts an old fashioned card party on Monday May 19 at 8 pm in the parish basement with bridge euchre five hundred pinochle Fuchsen and lotto and a 25 cent luncheon during intermission.

Knee Pants Car Thieves Nabbed After Two Thefts
State patrol and local officers rounded up four youths aged 13 to 15 for car thefts in Hamilton County. Howard and Robert Hardy, Fred Smith, and William Shaw were linked to stealing Leo Buerkle’s car near Wagles lodge and Fry’s car in Williamsburg. The Buerkle car was found abandoned on Deerfield road with fuel gone. Shaw remained at large as the other three were jailed.
