King Charged in Coon Dog Feud Killing Attempt
King Loyd King 20 of New Richmond and Wm Simpler barber of New Richmond clashed Friday night at Valley Berge near New Richmond over a coon dog. King allegedly struck Simpler with a stone wounding him and causing a hip fracture. King bound over to the October grand jury in $2 000 bail after a hearing before Mayor Dawsen.

Frank M. Wiseman of Batavia Ohio, a Miami University senior class of 1924, has been awarded one Sutphin scholarship in the University of Cincinnati College of Law. The grant provides about 225 dollars cash in the first year and free tuition. The other Sutphin scholarship for a Cincinnati resident will be announced later. Secretary of State Clarence J Brown calls all county board of elections clerks to a May 22 23 meeting in Columbus at the Hotel Deshler to discuss provisions of the new election code to be in effect for primaries and elections. The event aims to train officials with a question box and speeches by the recodification committee. About 600 officials from across Ohio are expected to attend. Clara A Lytle born 1858 died 1980 aged 71 will be remembered for her devotion to home and the Christian Church. A.E. Card of Thanks notes gratitude for funeral support and to Rev Stock and others. The April health report by County Health Nurse Mrs. Alice Beckman records 172 total inspections with 12 corrections and 12 defect free findings. It notes 19 school consultations, 8 home visits to school children, 3 teacher consultations, 97 children with very poor oral hygiene, 2 prenatal cases, 168 infants, 25 new births, 17 pre school, 12 vital statistics, and 82 mailed infant care items. Miss Schmitz of the State Department of Health visited for one day.

Batavia town hall hosted the Batavia Senior Class play The Charm School last week to full houses with strong performances by all cast members. The Owensville Senior Class also presented Mother Mine on May 10 with an attentive crowd and capable acting. Half Holiday Plan Discussed by Clermont County Bankers
The Clermont County Bankers Association met at the Bata via First National Bank building and discussed a half holiday for bank employees. The plan would close banks for a half day weekly from June through September, with Batavia Amelia Farmers and Merchants and Peoples of Williamsburg among those favorable. Bethel Bank undecided. The measure would let staff get a half holiday while completing five and a half days of work.

Girl Hobo Rescued at North and Western Station
Sheriff Roberts and Deputy MeinKen were summoned to the N and W railroad station to take charge of a 16 year old girl hobo riding the Portsmouth to Cincinnati freight. The girl from Williamson West Virginia rode between freight cars toward Stoneville on the train, refused to leave, and was locked up at her father’s request. He works as a brakeman for the railroad and later returned her home.

The senior class processed in with organ music and sat in the middle section as Rev Troxell led the service. Spraying Wild Onions Experiment At Farm Notes
