Clermonter Honored for Early Ohio Methodist Founder
Columbus Methodists and all at the Methodist centenary in Columbus honor Rev. Samuel West, frontier circuit rider and founder of Ohio Methodism. West, who died in 1879 at 108, built the first M E meeting house in East Town street, later becoming the First Church on Bryden Road. Amelia Grange Meeting Backs Daylight Saving Repeal

Youth enrollments exceed eight thousand in extension clubs
More than 8,600 boys and girls joined crop, livestock, home economics and related clubs run by the Agricultural Extension service this year, more than doubling May enrollments from last year. About half study canning and food prep, with around 1,200 in pig clubs and a similar number in poultry clubs, plus many in gardens, potatoes, calves, sheep, corn, clothing making, and livestock judging.
