New Parking Ordinance Takes Effect in Batavia

Batavia enforces a new parking ordinance with 30 minute limits on Market Street blocks from Main to the post office, one hour near intersections, and eight hour limits on Main Street from 6 am to 6 pm. 18 hour general limit. Violations may incur fines from 2 to 10 dollars plus costs.

New Plan Adopted by Blue Cross For Billing

After June 10 Blue Cross Hospital Care enrollees will receive statements at home mailed by the Hospital Care office. Batavia residents will still pay to First National Bank of Batavia. Enrollment applications are being accepted. Judge Orville Halbisch and a Boy Scout leader authorize literature distribution explaining the plan. Change of address should be given to Batavia Bank.

Mrs Dumford Injured in Car Crash Near Newtonsville

Mrs William Dumford of Newtonsville suffered chest and scalp injuries in a Sunday evening collision on State Routes 131 and 133 east of Newtonsville. Her husband and daughter were unhurt. She was taken by Monroe ambulance to Our Lady of Mercy Hospital.

Fairground Building Purchased for Clermont County

Clermont County will move a 40 by 96 by 12 foot steel building from Deer Park to the fairground in Owensville. The W I Trucking Co will haul it for the County Commissioners. The building will serve Fair Board needs during Fair Week and house county equipment the rest of the year.
