Warning Stroke Signals and Risk Factors Highlighted by Heart Association
The Heart Association warns about transient stroke signals such as brief vision loss, temporary weakness or numbness, intermittent speech difficulty, and coordination lapses. It lists risk factors including high blood pressure, prior mini strokes, heart abnormalities, hardened arteries, diabetes, and high cholesterol, urging regular checkups and medical guidance.

Spring Carnival Set Saturday at Williamsburg Elementary
The annual Elementary Spring Carnival will be at Williamsburg Elementary School from 4 to 8 p m on Saturday May 13. Proceeds fund stage curtains for the multi purpose room with another project to be chosen this fall. Last year the carnival raised 1528 22 dollars for playground improvements and equipment. Activities include games a dance from 8 30 to 10 30 p m in the multi purpose room and a sale of candy baked goods flowers plants rummage soft drinks and meals served in the cafeteria with chicken or fish sandwiches hot dogs baked beans potato salad pie cake ice cream and beverages.
