Floods and Winds Displace Dozens in Clermont County
Rising waters and high winds caused heavy property damage in Clermont County early this week. US 50 at Perintown, Route 222 near Batavia, and US 52 at Ten Mile Rd were closed. Milford and Loveland suffered severe flooding with about 20 Milford families forced to move from their homes. Police Chief Earl Konrad reported the evacuations.

$1 Million Electrical Expansion Planned for Cincinnati Area
The Cincinnati Gas and Electric Company launches a $1 million project to add a South Bethel Substation serving Brown and Clermont Counties. A 26 666 EVA transformer will feed two 66 000 volt lines from Clermont and Summerside substations, with 33 000 volt lines to Hamersville Georgetown and Williamsburg. Bids Opened for Two More Ohio Highways Projects
The Ohio State Highway Department opened bids in Columbus for the second half of Route 74 from Willkowville to the Mt. Carmel line. Foley Construction Co. was the apparent low bidder at 1,443,202, with the engineer's estimate at 1,887,000. Condemnation may be needed for part of the right of way, and work start date is unsettled. Brewer and Sons Co. also bid on Route 132 corrections and Route 125 widening, with 78,053 and 78,949 respectively.

Amelia County coroner Dr. A A Gruber ruled John Paul Scheel ten year old of Lindale death an accident after the boy was found hanging in a barn on Dr Charles Webby’s farm on Ten Mile Road. Requiem high mass was held May 10 at St Church with interment Mt Moriah Cemetery.
