Federation of Women Clubs to Meet in New Richmond

The Community Service Club of New Richmond hosts nine Clermont county federated Women's Clubs for the annual Federation Assembly at Cranston Memorial Presbyterian Church on June 2 starting 9:30 a.m. Lunch, musical selections, readings, a paper and guest speaker are on the program.

Williamsburg Officials Plan Discussion on New Street

Williamsburg village officials will meet with county state and Federal authorities Friday at 1 30 P M in the Farmer s and Merchants Bank to discuss a proposed new street through the town. Amelia P T A Registers Council Meeting in May

On Wednesday May 18 the Amelia P T A will entertain the County Council Registration at 10 15. Committees appointed include Hospitality Registration and Special Music with named members and a pianist. Lunch will be served in the dining room. Wild avocados in Columbia trees grow wild and profusely.

Bar Association Regional Meeting Set for May 14 in Hamilton

Clermont county lawyers and judges are invited to a Hamilton regional meeting of the Ohio State Bar Association at the Anthony Wayne Hotel. The Butler County Bar Association backs the event with Attorney John D. Andrews as general chairman. Attendees include lawyers from eight counties, with seven other counties invited.

Milford Wins All County High School Track Meet

Seven Clermont County schools, including Milford Batavia Goshen Amelia Owensville Williamsburg Bethel, competed at Owensville Fair Grounds. Milford won both boys and girls divisions with 68.5 and 30 points respectively, Goshen second in boys and Amelia near top in girls.

The Amelia P T A held its last meeting Monday with opening songs sung by the Glee Club. Rev Hazel Wood led prayer as officers reported, then installation of new officers by Mrs Charles Hyser and appointment of committees for the following year.

The Amelia Woman's Club entertained the Milford Club on Saturday May 7 at Mrs. Sidney Scarce’s home. Hostesses included Mrs. Henry Laub Miss Bertha Townsley Mrs. John Slye Mrs. John Snyder and Mrs. Nellie Coleman. Roll call offered a friendly thought and a paper titled Familiar Birds by Mrs. Stevens of Milford.

Amelia Girl Scouts Hold Regular Meeting

The Amelia Girl Scouts held a weekly meeting in the Scout Room on Tuesday May 8 at 7 45 P M. Eleven of the 21 members attended. After a business session the group shared twenty minutes of recreation before adjourning to meet again on Tuesday May 10 in the Scout Room.

Game Warden Frank Stagg of Clermont county warns anglers to follow the new five year fishing limits effective May 1 1938. The Ohio Conservation Council enhances penalties for exceeding two rods or lines and limits hooks and lures under a letter from Conservation Commissioner L Wooddell and Council Chairman Ray A Miller.

Woman Candidate Files for Congress in 6th District

Clara S. Andree of Waynesville filed to run for Congress in Ohio’s 6th District against Emory Smith of Clermont. The Clermont county Board of Education approved creating two new districts Mt Carmel Glen Este and Tabasco Williamsville from Union Township Rural to improve district coverage. The board, led by President Charles J. Fitzpatrick, held a public hearing and noted each new district would surpass 15 existing districts in size.

Eagles Hold Meeting and Honor Mothers Across Four Churches

The Clermont Aerie Lodge of Eagles No. 2289 District 21 hosted a Sunday gathering with seven members and 125 visitors from Blanchester Hito Manchester and Georgetown. James Se of Columbus delivered remarks and flowers were sent to Batavia churches including 1st Presbyterian Catholic and United Brethren. The Eagles claim sponsorship of Mother's Day.

Fulton kin mourn death of Samuel M. Fulton in San Francisco

Samuel M. Fulton eldest son of the late George M. Fulton died in San Francisco California in May at nearly seventy. He married Mary Leeds who died in 1922 and spent forty years with the Santa Fe Railroad mostly in San Francisco. He leaves brother Wm J M Fulton in San Francisco and sisters Mrs Ella Tufts of Pittsburg and Mrs Sarah Cain of Maineville. Services and burial at 1030 Tuesday in Union cemetery.

Auto Crash injures two men on return trip

Clyde Campden age 28 of 12th street Cincinnati and George Faught of Glen Este were in a Saturday night crash when their car left the road near Glen Este, turning over in a ditch. Campden sustained head, shoulder and leg injuries. Faught had bruises and both were taken to the hospital. Dr Masterpole aided at the scene.

Three Clermont Delegates Attend Camp Indianola Event

On May 6 7 and 8 Ara King Amelia Martha Ann Fuhr Williamsburg Betty Ansteadt Newtonsville were sent by Clermont county Council of Religious Education to Camp Indianola near Lancaster to represent the county. 88 counties participated with three delegates each.

Clermont Seventh in Oxford Meet

Nearly 1,400 Miami Valley high school students competed in the Miami University district States scholarship tests in Oxford. Van Cleve of Troy won division one for schools over 400 students. McGuffey of Oxford led division two for smaller schools.
