Commencement was held at the Town Hall Friday night with Prof. Roberts delivering a strong address. Raymond Ross won a silver medal as fastest class typist. Elizabeth Philhower, Robert Wiseman, and Ethel Murphy gave honor orations. Batavia Orchestra performed a varied program under Supt. Beaman, with diplomas presented by President Wiseman and prayers led by Rev. Stafford and Rev. Semrau.

Health officials pledge 30 volunteers for flood district aid
Dr. Monger state health director received a telegram from the U S Public Health Service requesting health officials and immunizing serums for the Flood District. Fifteen health commissioners volunteered, the County Board granted Dr. Treton leave, and Dr. Monger pledged thirty commissioners for service, with need continuing after the flood ends.

Batavia O. E. S. held an inspection Monday evening with a large delegation. Deputy Grand Matron Lou anna Morrow of Portsmouth praised the Chapter’s condition and performance. The Chapter presented tokens of appreciation and donated 25 to the Red Cross for flood sufferers. Refreshments were served.

Loveland Burglary Suspect Captured in Cincinnati
William Russell of Loveland was indicted by the January grand jury for burglary and captured in Cincinnati Thursday, placed in Batavia jail. His mother posted $10,000 bond for his appearance. George Brooks, his partner, is out on $2,000 bond. The crime occurred at Loveland on the Pennsylvania railroad.
