A Williamsburg mother of five county welfare children, Anna L. Hall, 35, is to be honored by The Clermont Courier at Coney Island on Sunday May 13. The nomination came from Thelma Tomadichel of Williamsburg, praising Hall’s devotion and care for the children. Mrs Hall and her husband Thomas E a truck driver at Camp Dennison and their blended family will attend a family chicken dinner with free ride tickets for the children. The Courier will present Mrs Hall a special Mothers Day gift and Mrs Tomadichel will receive a gift as well.

Motorist Hurt In 2 Car Crash Near Bethel
Alfred Hall 45 of 328 North Main Street suffered head and left leg abrasions after a two car collision on Route 125 one mile west of Bethel. State patrol said the other driver John T. Dalsover 31 of Cincinnati lost control and crossed into oncoming traffic.

Red Cross Founder’s Clermont Chapter Honored in Santa Cruz
In Santa Cruz California 80 year old Mrs Blanche Heidlebaugh recalls working with Clara Barton during the 1900 Galveston flood. She helped organize the Clermont chapter in Batavia Ohio and served with the Red Cross from 1900. The Galveston hurricane killed thousands and spurred Barton to lead relief efforts.

Low voter turnout marked Tuesdays primary in Clermont County with three levies on the ballot. Two measures failed: Union township zoning levy defeated 441 to 394 and Felicity operating levy down 138 to 95. Miami township bond for school construction won by eight tenths of a vote, 296 to 196. Barn Fire Destroys Afton Barn
Afton area barn owned by John J. Lung burned Tuesday afternoon. The two tractors inside were worth about 5,000 dollars, and the barn valued at 5,000 dollars. Insurance partially covered the loss. Batavia firefighters arrived as the roof collapsed, and a grass fire near Shinkle's store was controlled two hours later with no damage. House says construction starts this week for 14 classrooms restrooms and a parking area at a total cost of 253,000 dollars with 168,000 from local bonds and 85,000 from the state. Carlton Hyde retiring executive of Brown and Clermont Districts Boy Scouts of America received a round trip Pullman ticket to St. Petersburg Florida from Clermont and Brown districts after seven and one half years service.
