Ex Court Star Dies In Crash
John Frey Jr. 20 of 211 Center Street was killed when the car he rode in struck the Twelve Mile Creek bridge abutment on US 52 Monday at about 11 p.m. Driver Alfred Randolph received cuts and bruises. charged with reckless driving. Frey, a former New Richmond basketball star and mail carrier, died at the scene. He is survived by his parents a brother and a sister. Morser Hearing Set For May 23 Court of Appeals
May 23 has been set for a Court of Appeals hearing on a decision invalidating the consolidation of the Amelia Williamsville Tabas co and Mt Carmel Glen Este school districts. Attorney Harold Nichols of Batavia represents taxpayers who filed suit challenging consolidation. Judge John Houston said the county board of education met in a special session rather than a regular session when it moved to place consolidation on the ballot. Prosecution Ray Bradford and Robert Jones represent the county and local boards in defense of the consolidation.
