Large Odd Fellows Gathering at Marathon Lodge Banquet

Ohio Wheat Prospects Fall, Oats Planted Much Slower
Crop report shows wheat prospects at 65 percent of average, down 1 point since April 1. Severe cold rains reduced wheat condition, with 48 percent in the northwest of average. Oats area projected at 95 percent of last year, about 1,820,088 acres, while many plowed wheat fields may shift to oats or corn. Fruit prospects at 88 percent of average, with peach losses from winter.

Levi Griswold 87 Dies in Lorado Clermont County
Levi Griswold longtime Clermont County resident died at his Lorado home on Saturday April 29 at age 87. He had been an active man and a devoted one. He was survived by eight children and his wife had died earlier. Eight children attended the funeral on Tuesday.
