A reporter’s investigation exposes neglect and mismanagement in nearly one hundred government veterans hospitals. Conditions include unsanitary care, cold food, high prices, and denied surgeries, prompting calls to end government-dominated medical care for civilians.
Funeral services were held Monday at Moore Funeral Home for Mrs Carrie Dudley 66 of Batavia who died at home last week. Burial followed in Mt Morial Cemetery. She leaves husband J Otis Dudley two sons Roger Dudley of Glenn Este and Jack in Belgium with the Armed forces.
The Batavia 4-H Club met at the home of Mrs Hurdle on Thursday. Louise was elected president and Fachsie was asked to invite at least one person to join. The meeting adjourned at 9 PM after refreshments served by the hostess.
Mt Carmel Grange No 975 will hold Rural Life Sunday at Summerside Methodist Church on May 6 at 10 30 A M. All members urged to attend. Home Economics Committee asks ladies to bring their house dress for the second May meeting and a prize awaits. Don’t forget May 19.

The Christian Science Society of Tobasco Ohio announces services in Masonic Hall Sundays at 10 30 A M with Sunday school. Wednesday meetings at 8 P M reading room open in Forestville with hours listed and a welcoming invitation to all to attend and use the reading room.
