Merlyy Marathon and James G Dunn, a first class structural mechanic and husband of Lillian Dunn, are among Batavia residents noted for Navy service. John E Shepherd, seaman recruit, son of Mr and Mrs A Shepherd of Box 72 Route 1Batavia, enters the Navy after working at Day's Auto Service. Earl Latchford, of Batavia Route 5, earns the Combat Infantryman Badge serving with the 1st Cavalry Division in Korea. Robert W. Lytle, Batavia resident and Batavia High School graduate, enlists March 19 1952 after working at Recto Molded Products in Cincinnati.
