Batavia Sets May 7 Exam Day For Eighth Graders
Batavia will host an eighth grade entrance examination on May 7 for admission to high schools at home school expense. About 200 pupils from 12 townships will take the test in the Batavia school building under District Superintendent Pattison. A teachers’ examination follows the same day under the new law, with a 12 year teaching certificate awarded to successful normal students.

Mrs Laura Heinrici widow of Albert Heinrici died at her Batavia home Saturday afternoon in her 90th year after a period of failing health. Survived by a son Albert. Funeral from the residence Tuesday afternoon with burial at Union Cemetery.
