Batavia U B Church Plans Three Week Revival

Batavia United Brethren Church led by Rev I E Jenkins will host a three week revival from April 8 to 22 featuring Dr Oliver E Williams the radio sky pilots. Mrs Williams and Mr J R Murray oversee a musical sermon with Murray performing each Saturday night and Williams leading sermons other weeknights. Special children and youth services will accompany the program.

Ohio Valley Egg Cooperative formed in Milford Ohio

The Area Committee of the Ohio Valley Egg Cooperative met in Milford to finalize by laws and appoint Harold Koker as chairman. Directors include Harold Koker Virgil Hamilton Robert Caldwell Mrs G W Johnson Vawter Irvin Verle Duty and Grant Maddox. A Milford plant site was secured and a trade name contest offers a $25 war bond prize. Membership drive runs April 16 to 30 across multiple Ohio Indiana Kentucky counties.

Batavia Soldier Earns Silver Star for Gallantry

Pfc. Robert E. Talbert of Batavia Ohio received the Silver Star for bravery under heavy artillery fire. While aiding a wounded comrade in the 178th Engineer Combat Battalion he exposed himself to shell fragments and was wounded in the act. His actions reflect credit upon himself and the United States Army.

Richland Flood Damage May Reach About 250000

Residents of New Richmond led by Mayor John Ginn work toward recovery after flood damage affecting about 525 homes, with 50 habitable. Former Deputy Sheriff W. Howard Jacobs Dies at Pearl Harbor

Relatives learned that W. Howard Jacobs, 30, a former Clermont County deputy sheriff, died by suicide at Pearl Harbor. No act details released. He had served as Highland County game warden and lived in Hillsboro. Survived by parents Mr. and Mrs. Jasper Jacobs, wife Bertha, siblings, and many extended family members.

Farmers Attend Fertilizer Meeting in Clermont County

Seventeen Clermont County farmers attended a Wednesday meeting in the County Extension Agent's office to hear John Slipher of Ohio College of Agriculture discuss the plow-down fertilizer method. He cited an estimated 16 bushels per acre gain over traditional methods and noted college support for two test plots. Attendance list followed.
