Funeral Services Held for Former Clermont County Coroner

Sam M. White 87 former Clermont County coroner died Saturday from a heart illness. He sold a Felicity paint store two weeks earlier. Born in Brown County he served as county coroner for 13 years and later worked in Felicity mortuary work. Survived by two children Major Robert R. White and Mrs. Frances White Reynolds.

Plans Outlined For New Richmond School Improvements

The New Richmond plan outlines a 47000 bond to fund a major expansion for the public schools. It would add a larger gym and auditorium, cafeter ia, science and home economics spaces, music and commercial rooms, and restrooms for students and staff. If approved in the Primary Election, construction would begin once materials arrive, per Supt Roy C Thompson.

Dairy Subsidy Payments Due Soon

Byron Ross announces Clermont County A A A set to pay January through March 1946 dairy subsidies to eligible producers. Payments run April 1 to May 31 with 60 cents per hundredweight for whole milk and 17 cents per pound for butterfat. Producers should submit applications with sales evidence to the County A A A office by end of May.

Exploding Kerosene Fire Kills Baby Near Batavia

A kerosene explosion at a Batavia area home near Elk Lick Pike destroyed Sherman Walters' four room house and killed his two month old baby. The mother Mrs Walters and older child were seriously burned and hospitalized. Walters returned to Batavia while officials searched for the infant's body.

Man sued for mother's funeral expenses

The H. J. Threndorf & Sons Funeral Home of Norwood filed a petition in Clermont County Court of Common Pleas to collect 582.04 for funeral expenses of Granville V. Hunt's mother. Sheriff Clyde Dericks is seeking Hunt, believed to be in Texas, with attorney James W. Walker representing the funeral home.

Five Speeding Fines in Batavia Court

Five persons were brought before Mayor Munden in Batavia for speeding during the past week. Fines ranged from 3 to higher amounts. Two men were jailed for intoxication, another for fishing without a license.

The Cler mont County Agricultural Council elected Edward Saxton as president succeeding F L Carter. Herman Fagley was named vice president and Dale Bee reelected secretary. The group decided to move from quarterly to monthly meetings starting April 15 and discussed The Relation of Radio to Agriculture by Ben Werk. The audience preferred traditional melodies over Hill Billy music.

Mrs. Marlowe Kline, wife of Vernon E. Kline, studied at the Palmer Institute of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, completing her course March 1. Vernon, a Seabees veteran, returned from service December 6 1945, reentered Palmer for a refresher course January 3 1946, and they plan a joint practice once settled, with one child Karen. They consider a southwestern location such as New Mexico or Arizona.

Clermont County Grand Jury meets for two and a half days examining 42 witnesses in 26 cases reporting 16 true bills and 10 ignored cases. Perin Hangs Self with Services Saturday

Clarence W. Perin of Newtown Ohio was found dead by hanging in a barn at his Milford home Thursday morning. Funeral services were held Saturday at Monroe Funeral Home in Milford with burial in Spring Grove Cemetery Cincinnati. Survived by wife Margaret and two stepchildren Richard David and Laura. He had been married only five months after recent treatment for an unspecified disorder.

Milford Brass Rail disturbance ends with police action

Five officers responded to a dispute outside the Brass Rail Cafe on Main Street Milford after midnight. The fight began inside between bartender Bernard Clements and patron Eldred Sarver Jr., 22, leading owner Stewart Lester to close the cafe at 1 am to prevent further trouble as Sarver and others waited for Clements to exit.

At a Batavia Rotary Club meeting officers were elected for 1946 47 with Harold Nichols as president and John P. Friend as president elect.
