The article notes an 80 percent dark bread slated for late this month with assurances of similar color taste and toasting quality. The "Brown Bread" is expected through August or longer, tied to wheat crop, under government order to aid Europe and the Orient.

The April term of the Clermont County Grand Jury starts at 10 a.m. Monday at Batavia Court House. Judge Joseph Bagby of Brown County is expected to hear the first case Tuesday, Rapp Vs. Wulfeck, over a road use dispute on Route 8 in Batavia.
Three people were injured Saturday night near Ripley when a car driven by John Fultz of Hamilton sideswiped a car driven by Walter Porter of Ripley. Passengers Madeline Philpott and Ernest Carpenter, both of Hamilton, and Fultz with a head cut were treated by Dr. George P. Tyler of Ripley.
A mission begins Sunday March 24 at Holy Trinity Church Batavia and runs through March 31. The Rev William Hagger AY of the Jesuit Novitiate will present lectures on Catholic beliefs and practices at 8 oclock each evening. World War I veterans return as Clermont County Baseball League plans a 8 p m Friday meeting at Batavia Court House to organize for the year and elect officers. Towns hopeful to enter include Owensville New Richmond Goshen Williamsburg Bethel Newtonsville Bate and others.
Saint Patrick the Saint Bernard owned by Wayne Florea won first in his class and was Winners dog at the Cincinnati Kennel Club show on March 17. Wayne, Milford School student and son of Donald R. Florea, also earned two ribbons. Henry E. Weddig showed both dogs for Clermont County PTAs as Frank Uggatt led a county council meeting.
Clermont County eyes a 13500 Red Cross fund target in the annual drive to support peacetime relief. Co-Chair Mrs. Wyatt Turner stresses the dual mission of aiding service members overseas and civilians at home, urging the public to answer the call and help the Red Cross keep its programs active locally and abroad.
At the Clermont County school boards annual meeting in Batavia the State Librarian discussed potential library facilities. He noted abandoned Army books might be obtained for Clermont County, which lacks public library services, and cafeteria equipment could be bought for schools at a 40 percent discount from the War Assets Corporation. Funding possibilities include tax money from interngibles and potential Carnegie Foundation aid upon application.
The Messenger, a weekly with circulation in Mariemont Fairfax Madison Place Madisonville Plainville and Terrace Park Cincinnati, will start publishing this week from Clermont Courier plant in Batavia. Publisher Jerald B. Fortney announced the purchase from James R. Newton of Mariemont. Editor Ben Geygan will run offices in Mariemont. The Messenger had 17 years of issue history, paused during the war, and resumed last January before sale.

Lanahath 77 of Felicity was found dead on a road near Felicity Sunday morning. Sheriff Clyde Derricks and acting Coroner J W Wiseman investigated the death. The Clermont County VFW Post No 3084 held a regular meeting.
Milner Little 56 a noted attorney and Republican activist died after shooting himself last weekend. He maintained an office in Cincinnati and his wife Mrs Little taught in Batavia schools and once served at the University of Cincinnati. Despondency overwork and recent political activity surrounded his death. Funeral services were held Tuesday in Mt Washington conducted by T P White & Sons.
Increased interest in the advisory service is reported today. Mr Doud meets veterans each Thursday in the Conference Room of the Batavia Courthouse from 9 to 4. Veterans with problems such as social security, insurance claims, schooling, job training or hospitalization are advised to call on Mr Doud.
A 100 year old note describes a new Drying apparatus by a Yankee inventor. An upright post supports four arms arranged at right angles with cords stretched between post and arm ends forming a spider like web. A housewife places wet clothes on angles and turns arms to complete the drying web.
The Olive Branch band and the Batavia band have joined to form one band with about 16 to 19 members. Practice nights will alternate weekly between Batavia and the Branch, under director P F Jamieson who will arrange the music. Promenade concerts at the courthouse park are planned for the summer.
Twenty five years ago the Clermont County dog tax market moves slowly with 2,105 payments recorded to date. The Auditor reports several dogs may have escaped taxation and asks residents to check if any belong to them.
Cincinnati Gas and Electric offers Batavia a 10 percent rate cut as village studies the feasibility of a municipal plant. Delinquent tax list at Clermont County Courthouse shows only 43.87 dollars unpaid of 8518.84 for Williamburg for first half of 1945. Village council, after old contract expired, has not acted on new rate. Local officials toured Ohio and Kentucky plants. surveys favorable.
Jury Commission in Cler mont County draws Grand and Petit jurors for the April term. Names include George Hack, Frank Julian, Ella King, Nina Kautz, Carroll Spencer, and others from Milford Batavia New Richmond Bethel Williamsburg Love land and more. Cler k Lee Hannah oversees the process.
Revival services at Stonelick Baptist Church began March 11 and will continue through Sunday led by Rev. W A Fox of New Zion Baptist Church Hamilton Ohio and conducted for large crowds by pastor Rev C W Jesse.

Work starts Friday on a $250000 Feldman Frozen Food and Storage Plant replacing a building burned January 12. The new 210 by 180 foot facility on Donald Florea’s farm will house 2000 lockers, add a feed mill and machine shop, and expand services including slaughtering and meat processing.
