Kyle Mover, Clermont County’s legal dog catcher, began rounds to seize untagged dogs as tax delinquencies rose. The county provided a truck with a 50-dog cage. his first trip through Williamsburg Township captured 17 dogs, some of which were suitable for redemption by paying due taxes and pound feed costs. Death of Civil War Veteran John Burrell in East Batavia
John Burrell aged 84, Civil War veteran and respected local Black citizen, died suddenly at his son-in-law James Brower’s home in East Batavia after being found dazed in the yard. He leaves a widow and three children. burial is planned for Sunday.

Births and passing of May Evanshine Mersfelder in Ohio
May Evanshine Mersfelder, born near New Richmond Ohio in 1871, died March 15 at age 62. She married Daniel Mersfelder in 1908 and had one daughter. survived by husband, daughter, two grandchildren, mother, two sisters, four brothers, and many relatives. She joined the Methodist Episcopal church in youth and expressed readiness for her home above.
