Shrine Circus Set for Cincinnati April 5 10

Clermont Shrine Club promotes the annual Shrine Circus at Cincinnati Garden from April 5 through 10. Proceeds aid the burn treatment center at Cincinnati General Hospital and the Shrine Hospital for Crippled Children in Lexington Kentucky. In the photo are Earl Wolf and others.

Hearing Held on Proposed Subdivision Rule Changes

The planning commission considered setbacks in unzoned areas of 35 feet from the street and two side yards totaling 20 feet with at least eight feet on one side. A park dedication rule could apply to developments with any lot under 20,000 square feet. The panel discussed a three-year final map deadline, versus a 12 month proposed period. Moore Appointed By Cancer Unit

Charles P. Woods II of the American Cancer Society announces Louis H. Moore as memorial chairman for Clermont County. Moore will lead a year round program to honor those who died of cancer or other causes. He will form a memorial committee from county communities. Moore, a Batavia resident, runs Moore Funeral Home and holds local civic roles.

Fireman Class Instruction Progress Shared

Instructor Ray Riggs reports the fireman class made excellent progress in a public service program of the Trade and Industrial Vocational Education Service with the Northeastern Board of Education. A meeting is planned Thursday March 25 at 8 p.m. for more information call 752 9661 or 752 3000.

Police School Set March 31-April 28

A Clermont County Police School will be held from 7 30 to 10 30 p m March 31 through April 28 in Batavia with sessions on right to counsel arrest law search and seizure and evidence preservation taught by county officials and FBI experts. Certificates will be awarded at a May 2 dinner at Gateway Inn.

Felicity School Receives $2362 Federal Grant

Congressman William H. Harsha says Franklin Local Schools will get 2362 dollars from Public Law 874 aid for impacted areas. The grant is certified for immediate payment.

Williamsburg Factory Open House Attracts Nearly 300

Judge M Dale Osborne Donald Sheehan and other local officials attended a Williamsburg factory open house. Clermont County planning chairman Kermit Smith and John Watson joined guides for plant tours. Officials connected with the Williamsburg Development Corp assisted in relocating the firm with backing from Clermont National Bank and federal aid under the Area Redevelopment Act. An option was taken on 15 acres at State Routes 276 and 133 for a 50 bed nursing home costing 750000.

Fire at Monterey Lake Property Causes 25000 in Damages

A Sunday fire at the brick home owned by C. E. Sanders on Monterey Lake caused 25000 in damage while he and Mrs. Sanders were away. They found temporary lodging at the lake restaurant after returning. A second blaze at Day Heights home of Mr and Mrs Charles Mueller caused 1400 total damage with 800 to the structure and 600 to contents. Fire Dept responded. origin undetermined.

Batavia Pee Wee and Bulldog Teams End Season Undefeated

Batavia caps a standout year with both its Bulldog varsity completing a second straight unbeaten season and the Pee Wee squad going and capturing the league tournament. Five county schools including Amelia Batavia Brantner Feli participate in the Clermont County Pee Wee League coached by Edgar Watson.
