Harold T. Wisby of Hamersville was bound over to the Clermont County grand jury after a home intrusion allegation involving $160. Bond set at $1500. Pearl Bailey of Dayton received 60 days in jail for non support of two minors. probation revoked due to a bench warrant.

Man and Son Injured In Mt Carmel Two Car Crash

John Gaskins 15 suffered severe head injuries as a car driven by Norman Gaskins 48 being northbound on Mt Carmel Tabasco Rd veered left of center and struck their vehicle head on. Norman Gaskins sustained a broken kneecap and several broken ribs. Michael Harvey 19 was cited for excessive speed for road conditions.

Clermont County Republican Club Plans Buzz Session

The Clermont County Republican Club will host an 8 p.m. meeting at the D-X Ranch on April 8 featuring “buzz groups” to discuss election statistics from 1960 and 1964, stance on the Negro vote, club programs, and optimal meeting locations including Batavia or other communities. Student Struck On School Crosswalk In Amelia

Amelia 11 year old Reba Stratton was struck by a car on a crosswalk at Amelia Elementary School. She received abrasions and was kept for observation at Brown County Hospital after initial treatment by Dr. Pfalzgraf. The accident involved Mr. and Mrs. John Gullet who reside at 1346 Locust Lake Rd. and teach at New Richmond High School. The patrolman noted the street was wet and no citation was issued.

Rt. 32 Bid Receipt Day Set By State

Bids will be received until 10 a.m. April 27 for the improvement of 1,750 miles of State Route 2 in Williamsburg. The project covers drainage, asphaltic concrete paving on a waterproofed base, and widening and resurfacing in parts.

Gas service extension survey in Amelia planned

A meeting announced a survey to gauge customer interest in extending natural gas service. If 125 customers are assured, CG&E will supply gas by next heating season. Proposed Appalachia Way route drawn for Washington

Ohio officials send a map of the proposed Appalachia Way to Washington but Clermont County commissioners dispute the agreed route from a Athens conference. The plan would run east to west across Clermont, from Newtown to Batavia to Williamsburg following Ohio 32, with access roads to Batavia 125 and near Stonelick Lake Edenton. Alternative paths appear past Peebles as routes shift.
