New Richmond Students Present Show Business Show

More than 100 New Richmond students stage the annual variety show Show Business with 38 acts including music chorus band solos and dialogues. Robert Rammes music director Dorothy Bready dance director describe the production as the best yet. Three shows today including two for school children and an 8 15 pm public performance with an additional Friday evening show.

Windeler outlines Clermont County advisory plan

Harold L. Windeler of Amelia urged Loveland officials to form a county advisory group with one representative from each village and township. The nine point plan includes water needs survey, youth centers, a county library, a county-wide building code and zoning, improved telephone service, road improvements, Civil Defense cooperation, and county government accountable to residents.

Farm and Home Center in $12 Million Deal

The Farm and Home Center on Route 28 Milford sold for about 500 dollars to Joseph Grinker of North Bend and Milton R. Theilman of Cincinnati. Herschel Condon and wife sold the 42 acre site with buildings and inventory. Condon is a Brunhoff Manufacturing president and investor in several firms. Theilman plans expansion and a Gulf service station. Grinker owns Maple Leaf Trailer Court.

Students Earn High Honors at District Music and Science Exhibits

In Goshen on March 12, Miami University District Music Contest honors went to Carol King and Carol Danner among others with piano ratings, and a girls ensemble including Pegg Eppensteiner Marilyn Brown and Jean Steele. State honors await April 10 at Miami University. At the District Science Exhibit March 20 at Miami University, Dennis Spaulding Frank Fender Peggy Eppensteiner Donald Webb Paul Yeary earned superior to good ratings, with superior projects advancing to Ohio University for state honors.

Captain Raymond Ross of the Batavia Fire Department extinguished a blaze at the local Presbyterian Church while delivering the Sunday newspaper. He used his car extinguisher carried during mail delivery and prevented Owensville fire department from needed response.

Company B reorganizes under Lt Alfred Sprague in Batavia

Deer Park native Alfred J. Sprague is assigned to organize and command Company B of the 147th Infantry Ohio National Guard at the ONG Armory in Batavia. Recruitment has begun as the unit resumes activity since its 1952 federal call. Sprague is a 147th veteran with service in Camp Polk Korea and the 5th Regimental Combat Team, holding the Bronze Star and Combat Infantry Badge. A later story will trace the company’s history.

Public Asked to Look for Car Missing Hub Cap

Patrolman Frank Gibbons asked residents to watch for a light blue 1951 Chevrolet missing its left hub cap after it struck Airman Thomas Hayes 20, injuring him on Route 131 at Williams Corner. Hayes, stationed at Chanute AFB, suffered severe injuries and was treated at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital and St Marys Hospital. condition listed as fair.
