Neville man found guilty in cut with intent to kill case
Joseph Woodruff of Neville was found guilty by a 12 member jury in Common Pleas Court for cutting Loy Hines during a January 1 1925 holiday dance. Sixty five witnesses and five attorneys were present. penalty ranges from one to 16 years in the Ohio penitentiary.

Plaintiff Wins Damage Suit Over Guard Rails
Jessie Motz er of Union township sued Cler mont County Commissioners for 5000 dollars in a damage case heard by a Brown County jury of nine men and three women. The accident at a run in Upton township left Motz er with a scalp wound after the car toppled six feet down an embankment. The jury returned a verdict for Motz er for 2300 dollars. a motion for a new trial will be heard later.

The Ohio penitentiary reports its largest population in history with 2992 as the last received inmate Dan Boggs from Hillsboro among 1000 unemployed men. Edwin Perkins Dies in Washington D C Former Batavian
Edwin Perkins a son of the late W W Perkins and a former Batavian died at his Washington home last Thursday in his eighth year. He was buried from the M E church here at 2 pm Saturday with the Masons in charge and G A R members attending. Interment was in Union cemetery. He served as a government clerk since the Civil War and was held in high esteem by colleagues.
