Clermont county students swept top honors at the Inter-County Oratorical Contest in Memorial Hall Cincinnati with Paul Hopping winning first prize in Oratory Georgia Wyatt taking second in high school and Doris May Bodley earning second in intermediate. The same week state aid distributions totaled 25400 to county districts and clerks were urged to file final expenditure reports. Woodruff Sentenced to One to Twenty Years in Ohio Penitentiary
Joseph Woodruff was found guilty in Clermont County Common Pleas Court at Batavia of cutting with intent to kill Loy Hile. Judge Charles White sentenced him Wednesday to one to twenty years. A motion for new trial was argued and overruled. He was taken to Columbus Friday. The incident occurred New Year’s night at a Neville dance. Since then Woodruff has married.
