Williamsburg to Launch 1967 Education Crusade Against Cancer

The Community of Williamsburg announces a 1967 Education Crusade to Fight Cancer led by Rev. John M. Benson. Mrs. Larry Cadwallader heads the Williamsburg Crusade starting April 9 with Jr. Women PTA and civic groups assisting. Julius J. Knauer chairs the 1967 Business Crusade, active in the American Legion and Masonic Lodge. Ralph Kenneth Carter, a veteran ACS volunteer, leads the Williamsburg Village Crusade. Cadwallader and Knauer urge volunteers to join and support the effort to conquer cancer.

Planner Buckley to Speak at New Richmond Meeting

Donald Buckley executive director of the Clermont County Planning Commission will address the New Richmond Community Service Club on March 29. The event starts with a 6 30 p m covered dish dinner at the Beckford plant and Buckley will discuss The Potential of the Clermont County Area Facing on the Ohio River. All members and husbands urged to attend.

Jack Gentry announces Bethel chosen as the Loyalty Day observance site for 1:30 p.m. Sunday April 30 with Bethel Mayor O H Sharp pledging cooperation. The event, a VFW led anti May Day observance backed by Congress and Presidential Proclamation Public Law 85-529, invites Clermont County groups to parade or attend.

A county wide meeting to discuss solid waste disposal is set for 8 p m April 6 at the County Office Building with Lenier Hickman of Taft Sanitary Engineering Center as keynote. Invited are village and township officials and the county board of health. A film will be shown.

Clermont County hosts Spring Quarter education courses for teachers with on site Batavia High School meetings and Amelia High School option. First Monday sessions begin March 27 for the listed classes taught by named instructors with registration at the first meeting.

Dairy Farmers Dump Milk Across County For Higher Pay

In Clermont County 33 dairy farmers join nationwide protests dumping white milk to push for better wages. Officials estimate at least 60 percent of county milk is discarded with no effect observed so far.

Easter Egg Hunt Set Saturday in Batavia by Legion and Courier

The Frank W. Weaver Post American Legion and The Clermont Courier sponsor an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday March 25 at 2 p.m. on the post grounds off Route 32 east of Batavia. 1000 eggs are hidden with 74 prize eggs from 44 Batavia businesses. children hunt by age groups with separate areas while younger tots receive treats indoors. Spectators welcome and adults urged to watch.

Microfilming Finished of Inactive Clermont County Records

Clermont County Board of Education personnel completed microfilming of all inactive pupil records in county schools. Films cover graduates, withdrawals, or transfers. Dual storage planned with one copy at the local school and one at the county office. Updates will occur each summer to keep records current.

Milford woman given suspended jail term for phone harassment

Mrs Rose Whitmer 35 of Pleasant Hill Road Milford received a 60 day suspended jail sentence after a February conviction for telephone harassment. County Court Judge John D Erhardt ordered no further calls for a year and she paid 18.70 in costs. The case involved a complaint by Mrs Gloria De Valut of Tabasco who said Whitmer made humorous calls to annoy her. Amelia Chapter No 338, OES will host a smorgasbord April 8 at 5 p.m. at Amelia Methodist Church Main and Church Streets.
