Highway Improvement Contract Near Clermont to Sardinia

A contract for twelve miles of waterbound macadam highway from the Clermont county line to Sardinia is set for April 1–16. Charles M. Gordon led survey work. estimates are with County Commissioners. Specifications require sixteen feet width and crushed stone asphalt. County will pay 760 percent of cost, the woship 86 percent, and abutting property owners 25 percent.

Clermont county basketball tourney crowns Batavia boys

The third annual Clermont County Basket Ball Tournament was held March 18 at the Batavia Armory. Batavia boys won the final 36 to 11 over Milford, with Loveland and Amelia among top finishers as girls and boys awards honored by County Association officials.

Mission at Owensville Opens at St Louis Church

Beginning Sunday morning Rev Joseph Steinbrunner will conduct a mission at St Louis church Owensville for Catholics and non Catholics. The event runs daily from March 26 to April 2 with Reverend William Anthony welcoming non parishioners. Owensville church is praised for its beauty and architecture. The St Patrick day social at the Presbyterian church last Friday drew a large crowd with a fitting program and luncheon enjoyed by members and visitors. Williamsburg council filed a resolution asking voters to approve a $15000 bond issue to renew and enlarge the electric light plant, with a vote set for April 17.

Frank A. Duchemin of Owensville Dies Quietly at 69

Frank A. Duchemin, born November 18 1855 in Owensville Ohio, husband of Elizabeth Moorhead, father of Flavious Lillie Velma, and grandfather to two, passed away peacefully. He did not join a church but is believed redeemed. Survived by siblings and many friends, the family thanks Rev Ruyseell choir and undertaker N T Daily for support after the bereavement.

Ohio Farm Bureau plans four livestock commission firms

The Ohio Farm Bureau Federation will establish cooperative livestock commission firms in Buffalo Cleveland Pittsburg and Cincinnati with Buffalo opening before May 1 led by F G Ketner head of the livestock marketing department. Cincinnati will be last and likely start in the fall. Board of Directors will be drawn from state shipper groups and county agents report growing youth club activity and revised prize funds for 4-H style clubs.
