1921 Ohio taxes rise sharply

C A Dyer, chairman of the Ohio Tax Association, reports 1921 average per person tax in Ohio at 38.20 dollars excluding special assessments and license charges. Rural real estate duplicates rise by 7.6 million. rural personal property down 65.6 million. Municipal real estate duplicates up 85.9 million. municipal personal property up 94.7 million. State tax duplicate net up 72.9 million. Subdivision taxes for 1921 exceed 1920 by 28.2 million.

In 1922 Carl Rush a Bethel civil engineer now with the State Highway Department under Mr. Justice announces his bid for county surveyor. The 1920 ballot setback for Republicans in Clermont County is seen as not repeating with Rush as a competent candidate and potential able official.

Reward posted after theft of five National Guards revolvers

A theft at the Bata armory room within three weeks led to five 48 calibre revolvers and ammunition disappearing. Tobacco Sales End Season At Maysville Markets

The Maysville tobacco market closed with small sales at Liberty and Gray houses. Liberty sold 3,423,475 pounds this season with 3,285,325 pounds to farmers and 147,160 pounds resale, averaging $20.73 per hundred. Gray sold 689,065 pounds totaling $150,287.78 for an average of $21.81 per hundred.

Police Justice Cornish Named In Terrace Park Prohibition Court

Attorney Samuel Cornish is named police justice for Terrace Park to try liquor law violators in Hamilton county. Large Slip Stops Traffic On Bald Point Road

Traffic on the Bald Point highway was halted after a six rod stretch slipped, prompting all state forces to repair the roadway above the Armleder residence on two days last week. Divisional Engineer Justice noted a second threatening slip at the bend at the foot of the east hill. Local horses in southern Ohio show a new watery secretion and smoky scum as a disease spreads.

Poultry Disease Strikes Clinton County Hens Die Rapidly
