Amelia School Bond Issue Wins Voters Approval

Residents of the Amelia School District approved a 205000 bond issue by 649 to 57 with about 92 percent turnout. Funds will build elementary classrooms, with 190000 for construction and 15000 for equipment. Bonds must be sold before construction. Grunkenmeyer and Sullivan of Cincinnati are the architects.

In New Richmond Ohio the First Baptist church basketball team, three time Cler mont County Church League champions, were honored at a church banquet Tuesday evening. Coach Oscar Popp shared in the recognition.

More than 60 local CES MYF and Methodist Junior Choir members entertained residents of the Clermont County Home Sunday. The program featured a vaudeville act a miniature boxing match and singing by the groups.

St Patrick's Day Birthday Celebration in Perintown

PERINTOWN OH Henry Binning marked his sixtieth birthday on St Patrick's Day with a family gathering at his home Monday. Guests included Robert and Barbara Binning and their children Wayne Terry and Cindy of Cincinnati, Herbert Embry and family of Perintown, Bertha Binning of Indian Hill, and Mrs. Binning who cooked a special dinner.

Services Held For Afton Baby Victim Of Heart Ailment

Funeral services were held this week at Saylorsville for two month old Ronald Gillespie who died Saturday at the home of his grandparents in Chelsea Michigan. The baby succumbed to a heart ailment a few hours after his parents Vernon Gillespie and his wife arrived by automobile for a visit per the Chelsea coroner's report.

Milford Woman Named County Welfare Caseworker

Mrs. Rachel Franke of Milford was appointed this week as a Clermont County Welfare Depart ment caseworker. She will earn $176 monthly and will assist Sam Ausman, the welfare office director, while her husband, Leslie Franke, works at the Milford office of Cincinnati Gas and Electric Company.

Moscow Bandsmen Triumph at Oxford University Contest

Moscow high school band members earned top honors at an Oxford University music contest in Oxford. A trumpet quartet including Janet Jones and Donald Bolender rated superior. Nina Sneed earned second with a clarinet solo. Janet Jones took second with Lucia. Alice Lemar placed second with a marimba solo. Mrs. Nell Steen directs the band.

Three Draw Fines On Car Violations

Batavia Ohio and nearby areas saw three motorists fined for traffic violations by Mayor J F Paschal. Percy Newberry Batavia pleaded guilty to reckless driving earning a 50 dollar fine and 60 day driving suspension. Lewis Taylor Goshen received 50 dollars with 30 suspended for reckless driving. James B Garrett Foster Route 1 was fined 100 dollars plus costs for drunken driving with 25 suspended. Police Chief Ed Colonel and Sheriff Clyde B Dericks reported arrests.

Driver Survives Car Sinking in Nine Mile Creek

Cecil Chambers narrowly escaped death when his car struck a pole and swerved into Nine Mile Creek near New Richmond. He wriggled free from a crash door, swam to shore, walked to a tavern, and later declined hospital, while Police Chief Spaulding arranged return home after injuries to shoulder, leg, and head.
