Citizens oppose the 1000 acre annex at Bethel New Richmond Road with organized opposition at the Clermont County Commissioners hearing on March 30. A spokesman says an attorney will represent the group.
Assistant Principal Howard R Bennetts urges reflection after a student named Rick Thornton allegedly bought LSD at school and died from an ensuing incident. The message calls for courage to report dangers and prevent further deaths among students.
Kenneth E Ball of Bethel sues Emanuel J Howard in Clermont County Common Pleas for 100000 damages claiming wrongful death of his son Kenneth M Ball after he was struck by a car near their home on Patterson Road Bethel. Medical hospital and funeral expenses totaled 2054.
Federal and state jurists joined Clermont County Bar Association members to honor Judge Harold D. Nichols on his retirement. Attendees included U S District Judge Timothy Hogan Ohio Supreme Court Justice Louis Schneider and county officials from Clermont and neighboring counties. Judge Schwartz received a portrait for the courtroom honoring Nichols alongside other Clermont judges.
County Recorder William Shebesta reports February 1971 fees of 2833 with 259 deeds 165 mortgages ($8,059,094) and 218 financing statements. February 1970 counted 238 deeds 134 mortgages ($1,957,862) and 275 top lenders included Provident Bank and Franklin Savings and Loan among others.

State Representative William Mussey and Consumer Study Committee Chair Frank Mayfield Jr back a bill from an eight month study on consumer problems. The measure targets credit traps by outlawing holder in due course, referral selling, self-help repossession, unequal deficiency judgments, and inflated balloon payments while limiting security interests and restricting contract acceleration.

State support for vision and hearing programs declines from 10,000 to 12,000. Township and village funds provide most health department support.
